Free Shopify Store Audit
Paste your store address and the audit starts straight away. No account and no email first: the first result shows on screen.
Your .myshopify.com address or your own domain. The first pass is free and needs no account.
How the free audit works
The audit reads your store the way a new visitor would, from the public pages. The first pass is quick and asks for nothing: it reads your home page, one product page and your product catalogue, checks them, and shows you what it found worth fixing, most serious first.
The full audit goes further. It reads the rest of the store, including collections, the about, FAQ and policy pages, the blog and what customers have written in reviews, and builds two things before it scores anything: your customer personas and a brand profile of how you write and look. Every finding after that is tied back to one of those customers, because the right fix depends on who you sell to.
What the first pass checks
With nothing asked of you, it looks at:
- Search basics on the pages it reads: page titles, meta descriptions, headings, structured data and whether the page can be read without running scripts.
- Your catalogue: products with no photo, products with almost no description, and products with no type or tags.
- Reviews: whether there are any, and whether search engines and the audit can read them from the page.
- Sharing: whether a link to your store shows a picture when it is posted, and whether a logo can be found.
What the full audit adds
A score broken down by email, SEO, ads, conversion and brand; your customer personas with the pain points and quotes behind each one; your brand profile; a 30-day plan; and a drafted welcome email flow for your main persona, so you finish with something you can read and use rather than a list of problems.
The full audit runs once you create an account and save a card. The card is saved, not charged, and nothing is billed until you choose to.
The full method, and how a connected audit differs from a public one, is on the Shopify brand audit page. What plans cost is on pricing.
An example finding
Say a candle shop has 40 products and 9 of them have a two-line description. The first pass reports "9 products have almost no description", lists some of them, and says why it matters: a buyer who cannot hold the candle needs its size, burn time and scent notes in words. The fix is specific to those products, not a general tip. This is an illustration, not a real store.
To check one description against the same questions, paste it into the product description grader.
Common mistakes when auditing a store yourself
- Starting with fixes before knowing who buys. A change that helps one kind of buyer can put off another.
- Checking on a desktop only. Most people browse on a phone, and a page that looks fine on a laptop can bury the price or the button.
- Treating every finding as equal. Fix what stops people buying before you polish what they barely see.
- Auditing once. Stores change weekly: new products, new apps, new theme sections. Run it again after big changes.
What the audit does not do
It only sees what is public. It cannot read your Shopify orders, your email platform results or your ad account, so from public pages alone it cannot tell you which flow earns the most or which ad converts. Connecting your store and tools adds those. It cannot audit a store that is still password protected, and it changes nothing on your store: it reads, the same way any visitor does.
Questions people ask
Is the Shopify store audit really free?
Yes. The first pass costs nothing and needs no account, email or card: the result shows on screen. The full audit, with personas and the plan, needs an account and a saved card, which is not charged.
How long does it take?
The first pass usually finishes in well under a minute. The full audit reads many more pages and takes a few minutes. You can watch each step as it runs.
Does the audit change anything on my store?
No. It only reads public pages, the same ones any visitor can open. Nothing is installed and nothing is edited.
Why does the full audit need an account?
It reads a few hundred pages and runs the analysis that builds your personas, which costs real money to run. Asking for an account keeps it for store owners rather than scripts.
What happens after the audit?
You can confirm or edit the personas it found. Once confirmed, every Tilly agent writes from them: emails, SEO pages, ads and tests. Nothing is published without your approval.
Written by Tilly. The audit reads your store's public pages only and changes nothing on your store.
Want this done on your own store?
