Tilly

Omnisend alternatives for Shopify stores

Looking past Omnisend? Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Yozo side by side for Shopify stores, with Tilly's place in the list stated plainly. Every price read from the app's own page.

Why people look for something other than Omnisend

The bill follows the list. Omnisend's paid plans start low, Standard at $16 a month for up to 500 contacts, but the price rises as the list grows, so a store that runs a big giveaway can find its email costs have moved before its revenue has. source, checked 25 September 2026

SMS is metered. Omnisend adds SMS from $0.007 a message, which is cheap per send and hard to forecast in a month with a sale, when every campaign goes out to every phone number on the list. source, checked 25 September 2026

Help scales with spend. Omnisend assigns an account expert to stores paying $400 a month or more; below that, stores rely on its live support and help centre. Owners who want strategy, not just support, sometimes look elsewhere for it. source, checked 25 September 2026

Tilly

Best for: the store whose Omnisend account works fine but whose flows were set up once from presets and never rewritten. Tilly reads your reviews and orders, builds personas, and writes the emails for them, plus blog posts, ads and page fixes from the same profile.

Watch out for: Tilly does not publish into Omnisend today. It writes into Klaviyo, with Omnisend and Shopify Email next, so an Omnisend store would paste Tilly's emails in by hand until that ships. It also sends nothing itself.

Pricing: 100 credits free, once, no card. Then $49 a month for 500 credits, or $149 for 2,000 across up to 3 stores. Credits are spent when something is built; the audit and previews are free.

Klaviyo

Best for: a growing store that wants the most widely used sender on Shopify and room to add channels: Klaviyo covers email, SMS, WhatsApp, mobile push and pop-ups, and its Shopify listing shows 3,326 reviews when we checked.

Watch out for: The free tier is tight, 250 active profiles and 500 sends a month, and free accounts get email support for the first 60 days only. Most stores pay sooner than they expect.

Pricing: Free tier as above; paid email from $20 a month for 251 to 500 contacts; SMS from $15 a month for up to 1250 credits. source, checked 25 September 2026

Mailchimp

Best for: a store whose email is mostly a regular newsletter and a handful of automations, and which already uses other tools Mailchimp connects to: 300+ integrations are included on every plan.

Watch out for: The cheapest paid plan, Essentials, allows up to 4 marketing automations. Moving from Omnisend's preset library, that can mean choosing which flows to drop.

Pricing: Free under 250 contacts; Essentials from $13 a month, Standard from $20, Premium from $350. source, checked 25 September 2026

Yozo

Best for: a store that wants WhatsApp alongside email and SMS, and likes the idea of building campaigns by chatting with an agent rather than in an editor.

Watch out for: Its plans cap emails rather than contacts: Starter includes 10,000 emails a month, which a store sending twice a week to a mid-sized list will use quickly. Check your monthly volume, not your list size.

Pricing: A free plan; Starter at $50 a month with 10,000 emails and $10 of message credits; Growth at $150 with 200,000 emails. source, checked 25 September 2026

How to choose

Work out which of your costs is really the problem. If it is the contact-based bill, a tool that caps sends instead of contacts, like Yozo, can be cheaper for a big list you mail rarely and dearer for a small list you mail often. Put your own numbers into each pricing page before deciding.

If it is the channels, list the ones you actually use. Stores that only send email rarely need the broadest platform; stores that lean on SMS or WhatsApp should compare how each one charges for messages, because that line grows fastest.

If it is the writing, changing sender will not help on its own. Keep the tool that sends well and put effort, or a tool like Tilly, into what the emails say. That decision can be made separately from which platform sends them.

Whichever way you go, move in stages. Keep Omnisend's presets running until their replacements are live, warm up the new sender on your most engaged contacts first, and export your campaign history before closing the account so you have a baseline to judge the new setup against.

Questions people ask

Is Klaviyo more expensive than Omnisend?

At the entry tier on Shopify, Klaviyo's paid email starts at $20 a month and Omnisend's Standard at $16. Both rise with contacts, so the gap at your size is the number that matters.

Can I keep my Omnisend automations if I move?

No sender imports another's automations. Export your contacts with consent and suppression status, then rebuild each flow; it is a good moment to rewrite the ones that have not been touched since setup.

Which of these connects ChatGPT or Claude to my email?

Omnisend offers an MCP connection for building campaigns and segments from ChatGPT or Claude. For the others, check their own documentation; we only list what each app states on its pricing page or Shopify listing, and that feature is not stated there for them.

Does Tilly replace Omnisend?

No. Tilly writes; a sender sends. Today Tilly publishes to Klaviyo, and Omnisend support is planned rather than live.

Who wrote this list?

Tilly did. Each competitor fact links to the page it came from and the date it was checked, and the report link reaches us if something has changed.
