Mailchimp alternatives for Shopify stores

Best for: a store that is leaving Mailchimp because its email never got past the basics. Tilly works out who buys from your reviews and orders, then writes the full set of flows for those people, and does the same across your blog, Meta ads and product pages.

Count your flows before you compare prices. If you need more automations than Essentials allows, compare Mailchimp Standard with the others at your contact count, not the entry prices on this page.

Look at how you send. A store that mails a big list once a week is priced very differently by a contact-based tool than by one that caps emails per month; run your real numbers through each pricing page.

Decide separately who writes. Every tool here sends what you give it. If the reason you are leaving Mailchimp is that the emails are thin, budget for writing as well as for the new sender, whether that is your time, a freelancer or Tilly.

Then set a date and plan the overlap. Keep Mailchimp's automations running until the new ones are live and tested, move your most engaged subscribers first so the new sending domain builds a good reputation, and only then bring over the rest of the list. A move rushed into one weekend is how welcome emails go missing and old subscribers get mailed twice.

Finally, keep a record of what you had. Export last year's campaign results from Mailchimp before you close the account. They are the only baseline you will have for judging whether the new setup does better, and most tools do not import another's history.
