Why people look for something other than Intelligems

The bill follows your orders. Intelligems' plans scale with sitewide order volume, from $69 a month for Smart Content, so a store growing quickly pays more each quarter whether or not it is running more tests. source, checked 25 September 2026

Full coverage is a big step up. Unlimited, which covers every module, starts at $349 a month on the listing, a jump for a store that only needs one or two kinds of test. source, checked 25 September 2026

Some stores mainly need page and theme tests. If price and shipping experiments are not on your list, you may be paying for depth you do not use. source, checked 25 September 2026

Setup takes attention. Intelligems' strength, testing prices and shipping, touches the numbers customers pay, so each test needs care over which products and audiences are in it. Stores without time to manage that often want a simpler page-testing tool first. source, checked 25 September 2026

The shortlist

Each figure below is the one the tool publishes on its own pricing page or Shopify listing, linked and dated. Tools whose listing showed no reviews have none in the table. Tilly wrote this page and is one of the five.

Tilly

Best for: a store whose open questions are about words and creative rather than prices: Tilly's experiments agent tests email subject lines and content in Klaviyo, ad angles in Meta and page copy on a preview theme, with every test idea and variant written from your customers' worries.

Watch out for: No price, discount or shipping tests, and no profit-per-test reporting. If those are why you chose Intelligems, Tilly does not replace it.

Pricing: 10 credits per test including variants; Store plan $49 a month for 500 credits after 100 free credits.

Shoplift

Best for: theme, template and page tests built inside Shopify's theme customiser, with Lift Assist to build branded variants without code and zero page flicker.

Watch out for: Price testing starts on the Advanced plan, not Core, and pricing is based on monthly unique visitors.

Pricing: Core from $99 a month for up to 100k monthly visitors; Advanced $399; Pro $999; 14-day free trial. source, checked 25 September 2026

VWO

Best for: larger teams that want testing alongside heatmaps, session recordings and surveys, with multivariate tests and Bayesian reporting. VWO now trades as Wingify.

Watch out for: No published prices: Wingify quotes each customer, based on monthly active users. Its Shopify app had no reviews when we checked.

Pricing: Custom quote; 30-day free trial with no card. source, checked 25 September 2026

Convert

Best for: teams that want a general-purpose testing platform with Shopify price testing listed among its newer features, and a Shopify app that installs tracking without editing the theme.

Watch out for: The Shopify app needs a separate Convert.com account, and plans are priced on monthly tested users with a higher entry price than Intelligems.

Pricing: Growth from $399 a month billed monthly or $299 billed annually; Pro from $420 billed annually; 15-day free trial. source, checked 25 September 2026

How to choose

List the tests you actually plan to run in the next three months. If prices, discounts or shipping thresholds are on it, you need a tool built for them, and Intelligems, Shoplift's Advanced plan and Convert all state price testing. If the list is headlines, sections and emails, you do not.

Check what the pricing counts. Intelligems counts orders, Shoplift visitors, Convert tested users and Wingify active users. The same store can be cheap on one and expensive on another; run your own traffic and order numbers through each page.

Look at who writes the variants. Most testing tools give you an editor; the hypothesis and the new copy are still yours. Tilly writes both, which matters most for a store without a designer or copywriter on hand.

Remember traffic limits every tool equally. A store with a few hundred orders a month will wait a long time for any test to reach a reliable answer, and should test big differences rather than small ones.

Finish what is running before you switch. End or conclude live tests in Intelligems first, roll out the winners you want to keep, and write down what each test found. Price and shipping results in particular are expensive lessons; do not lose them in the move.

And keep the rollout separate from the test. A variant that won for one audience, such as mobile visitors from paid social, may not win for everyone. Tools that personalise by segment let you ship the winner only where it won; without that, test again before rolling it out store-wide.

Questions people ask

Which alternatives can test prices?

Shoplift includes price testing from its Advanced plan, and Convert lists Shopify price testing among its newer features. Tilly and VWO's Shopify listing do not state price testing.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Intelligems?

Tilly's tests cost 10 credits each on a $49 a month plan. Shoplift's Core starts at $99 a month. Neither tests everything Intelligems does, so compare the tests you need.

Which of these writes the test variants for me?

Tilly writes the hypothesis and the variants from what your customers say in reviews. Shoplift's Lift Assist builds branded variants for pages. The others give you tools to build them.

Which alternative reports profit rather than conversion rate?

Intelligems is the one on this list that states revenue, profit and cost of goods side by side on every experiment. The others report conversion and revenue metrics; check their documentation for profit reporting.

Who wrote this list?

Tilly. Every fact about another tool links to its own pricing page or listing with the date checked, and the report link reaches us if something has changed.
