Why people look for something other than Madgicx

You cannot see the price up front. Madgicx's pricing page asks for your ad spend and shows the main plan's price inside the app; its Shopify listing only says subscriptions start at $49 a month. Owners who want to compare costs before signing up look elsewhere. source, checked 25 September 2026

Few reviews to judge from. Madgicx had a 4.1 rating from 16 reviews on the Shopify App Store when we checked. That is a small sample for a tool that acts on ad budgets, and some owners want more outside experience before handing theirs over. source, checked 25 September 2026

Optimising is not making. Madgicx's automation, audiences and creative analysis work on the ads you already have. When the real shortage is new creative, a different kind of tool helps more. source, checked 25 September 2026

Automation needs watching. Rules that pause ads or move budget while you are offline are useful until one fires on a bad day of data. Stores without time to review them every week sometimes prefer tools that change nothing on their own. source, checked 25 September 2026

The shortlist

Every figure below is from the tool's own pricing page or Shopify App Store listing, linked and dated. Motion and Ryze AI have no Shopify listing we could read, so their rating cells are empty. Tilly wrote this page and is on the list.

Tilly

Best for: a store that needs a steady supply of Meta creative written for its actual customers: Tilly's ads agent writes copy and visuals for one persona and pain point at a time, checks them against policy and your category's claim rules, and publishes them paused.

Watch out for: It does not optimise running campaigns, build audiences or report across Google and TikTok. Tilly makes and publishes; what happens after launch is up to you or another tool.

Pricing: 100 free credits once; Store plan $49 a month for 500 credits; a set of ads is 25 credits.

AdCreative.ai

Best for: a store that wants ad banners generated quickly and cheaply for Facebook and Google, with analysis of how its creative performs.

Watch out for: It had no reviews on its Shopify listing when we checked, and the listing notes some details may be incomplete, so there is little outside experience to go on.

Pricing: Shopify Special at $19 a month for 100 credits, with a 3-day free trial. source, checked 25 September 2026

Motion

Best for: a brand with a creative team and serious paid social spend that wants every ad tagged and analysed, with briefs, hooks and reports delivered in Slack and unlimited seats for the team.

Watch out for: It is priced by ad spend and starts high: $750 a month for brands spending up to $50k a month, so it rarely makes sense for a small store.

Pricing: Starter $750 a month; Pro $1,200 a month above $50k spend; Growth on request above $125k. source, checked 25 September 2026

Ryze AI

Best for: a store that wants its ad accounts managed around the clock, with bid and budget changes made automatically across Google, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn, for a flat fee.

Watch out for: It acts on live spend. Its approval controls matter, and you should set them before handing over accounts.

Pricing: Paid Ads Autopilot at $89 a month, not tied to ad spend, with a 7-day free trial. source, checked 25 September 2026

How to choose

Work out whether you are short of ideas or short of efficiency. If your ads run well but you rarely have new creative to test, you need a maker, like Tilly or AdCreative.ai. If you have plenty of creative and the account is messy, you need an optimiser, like Madgicx or Ryze.

Match the tool to your spend. Motion's pricing assumes tens of thousands a month on ads; Madgicx and Ryze are built for accounts spending steadily; Tilly and AdCreative.ai make sense well before that, when the store is still finding what works.

Decide how much the software may do alone. Ryze changes bids and budgets itself, Madgicx runs the rules you set, and Tilly never spends. Choose the level you are comfortable reviewing every week.

Test with a fixed budget and a clear yardstick. Give the new approach a few weeks at the same spend as a proven ad, and compare cost per purchase rather than clicks.

Keep your data when you leave. Campaigns, ads and audiences live in your Meta account, not in the tool, so switching away from Madgicx loses its rules and reports but not the ads themselves. Turn the rules off before cancelling so no budget change happens after you stop watching it.

Questions people ask

What is a cheaper alternative to Madgicx?

AdCreative.ai's Shopify Special is $19 a month and Tilly's Store plan is $49 a month, but both make creative rather than optimise accounts. Ryze's Paid Ads Autopilot, at $89 a month, is the closest in job.

Which of these makes the ads, not just analyses them?

Tilly and AdCreative.ai generate creative. Motion and Madgicx analyse creative you have run, and Ryze rotates creative in live accounts.

Does Tilly publish ads live?

No. Tilly publishes ads paused into a Meta campaign you choose, and you turn them on.

Does Madgicx cover Google and TikTok as well as Meta?

Its pricing page lists Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, Shopify, Klaviyo and TikTok as sources for its reports, and its listing mentions Facebook and Google audiences. Tilly publishes ads to Meta only; Ryze manages Google, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn accounts.
