The short answer
This page is about Motion, the creative analytics tool at motionapp.com, not the other products with the same name. Motion and Tilly meet at ad creative from opposite directions. Motion looks back: it watches, tags and analyses every creative you have run, and turns that into reports, hooks and briefs for your team. Tilly looks forward: it writes new Meta ads for the people who buy from you and publishes them paused, as one of eight agents working from one brand profile.
Motion is built for brands with a creative team and large ad budgets; its entry plan assumes tens of thousands a month in spend. Tilly is built for Shopify stores that do not have a creative team and need the ads, and the rest of the marketing, made for them.
Side by side
Motion's figures come from its pricing page. It has no Shopify App Store listing we could read, so the rating rows are empty. Motion prices by monthly ad spend; the table shows its published tiers as written.
| Side by side | Tilly | Motion |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest published paid plan | Store: $49/month | Starter: $750/month, for up to $50k a month in ad spendsource |
| What the price is based on | Credits spent when an agent builds something; not contacts, sends or ad spend | Not recorded |
| Free plan or trial | 100 credits, once, no card | Not recorded |
| Connects to | Klaviyo (as drafts), your Shopify blog, Meta (ads paused), a preview copy of your theme | Northbeam, Google Analyticssource |
| Approval before anything goes live | Never. Every email, post, ad and page change waits for approval | Not recorded |
What each costs
Motion's Starter plan is $750 a month for brands spending up to $50k a month on ads. Pro is $1,200 a month for brands spending more than $50k, and Growth, for more than $125k a month in spend, is priced on request. Every plan includes unlimited seats and unlimited ad accounts.
Tilly's price does not follow ad spend. After 100 free credits, it is $49 a month for 500 credits on the Store plan and $149 for 2,000 on Growth; a set of ads costs 25 credits, and the same credits pay for email, blog posts and page fixes.
For a store spending a few thousand a month on ads, Motion's entry price is likely to be a large share of the ad budget itself. For a brand spending far more, with a team to act on the analysis, the calculation is different, and Motion is designed for it.
Both run on a monthly plan you can compare on paper. What differs is who does the work after you pay: with Motion, your team turns the analysis into ads; with Tilly, the ads are made and waiting for your approval.
| Motion's published plans | Price |
|---|---|
| Starter | $750/month, for up to $50k a month in ad spendsource |
| Pro | $1,200/month, for over $50k a month in ad spendsource |

| Tilly's plans | Price |
|---|---|

| Store | $49/month, 500 credits a month |
| Growth | $149/month, 2,000 credits a month |

Where Motion is better
Tilly wrote this comparison, so first the things Motion does that Tilly does not. source, checked 25 September 2026
- Deep creative analysis: Motion pre-watches, tags and analyses every creative you have run, across your whole account history. Tilly reports results only for the ads it made.
- It is built for teams, with unlimited seats and unlimited ad accounts on every plan.
- It works where the team works, delivering briefs, hooks and reports into Slack.
- It connects to attribution tools such as Northbeam and Google Analytics, so creative analysis can use the attribution a larger brand already trusts.
Where Tilly is better
Tilly makes the ads rather than analysing them. From your audit and personas, the ads agent writes copy and makes visuals for one persona and one pain point per ad, checks them against Meta's personal-attributes rule and your category's claim rules, and publishes them to Meta paused.
It is priced for stores that are still growing. There is no ad-spend threshold and no minimum team size; a store can make a new ad set most weeks on the Store plan and still have credits for email.
It does more than ads. The same brand profile writes email flows into Klaviyo, posts to your Shopify blog and fixes for your product pages, so the ad's promise and the page it leads to agree.
It closes the loop without a team. Results come back to each creative, winning angles are handed to the email and CRO agents, and the experiments agent tests one variant against another only when there is enough data to call it.
Switching
Moving from Motion to Tilly is not a like-for-like switch, because Motion analyses and Tilly creates. Before cancelling Motion, export the reports on your best-performing hooks and formats; they are your most useful brief for whatever makes your next ads.
If you keep Motion, Tilly's ads land in your Meta account paused and, once live, show up in Motion's analysis like any other creative.
If you are dropping Motion because your spend no longer justifies it, run Tilly's free audit and ask for a first set of ads. Because they publish paused, you can compare them with your proven creative at the same budget before anything changes.
Keep the metric you already trust. Whether it is cost per purchase or return on ad spend, judge Tilly's ads on it over a few weeks rather than on first-day clicks.
