The short answer
Madgicx works on ad accounts that are already running. It watches performance, applies automation rules so budget is protected when nobody is looking, offers a library of ready-made audiences and analyses your creative with AI. Tilly works a step earlier and wider: it works out who buys from you, writes Meta ad creative and copy for those people, checks it against ad policy and the rules for your category, and publishes it paused, alongside your email, blog and product-page work.
Choose Madgicx if Meta is a large, established channel for you and the job is squeezing more out of existing spend. Choose Tilly if you need the ads made in the first place, want them to say the same thing as the rest of your marketing, and want every ad to wait for your go-ahead.
Side by side
Madgicx's column comes from its pricing page and its Shopify App Store listing, each cell linked and dated. Its pricing page does not print the main plan's price, so the table shows only what the listing states.

What each costs
Madgicx's Shopify listing says subscriptions start at $49 a month after a 7-day free trial. Its own pricing page asks for your monthly ad spend and says the main plan's price is shown inside the app, so we cannot publish a figure for your size; ask for it during the trial.
Tilly's price does not depend on ad spend either way. After 100 free credits, the Store plan is $49 a month for 500 credits and a set of ads costs 25 credits, so a store could make a new set most weeks and still have credits for email and blog posts. Previews and reports are free.
Neither price includes the ad spend itself, which goes to Meta. The honest comparison is what each tool does to the return on that spend: Madgicx by optimising what runs, Tilly by improving what is made.
The free starts differ too. Madgicx offers a 7-day free trial; Tilly's 100 credits do not expire in a week, so the first set of ads can be made and judged whenever you are ready.

Where Madgicx is better
This comparison is Tilly's, so Madgicx's advantages come first. These are things it does and Tilly does not. source, checked 25 September 2026
- Automation on live accounts: rules that keep budget protected while you are offline. Tilly never touches running campaigns or spend.
- A library of 100+ ready-made Facebook and Google audiences to test from, where Tilly works from your own personas and leaves targeting to you.
- AI analysis of how your existing creative performs, across the account's history.
- Reporting across Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, Shopify, Klaviyo and TikTok in one place, broader than the Meta results Tilly brings back per creative.
Where Tilly is better
Tilly makes the ads. From the brand profile built in your audit, the ads agent writes copy and creates visuals for one persona and one pain point at a time, so each ad in a set argues something different to a different buyer.
It checks before you publish. Copy is checked against Meta's policy on personal attributes and the claim rules for your category, the step where skincare, supplement and pet ads most often get rejected, before anything reaches your account.
It publishes paused. Approved ads go into a new or existing Meta campaign you choose, paused. You decide when they run and what they spend, and results for spend, return on ad spend, click-through and cost per purchase come back to each creative.
It connects ads to everything else. When one image style wins, the email agent reads it next time it picks images, and winning angles are handed to the CRO agent as page-test ideas.
Switching
The two can run together: Tilly makes new creative that lands paused in your account, and Madgicx's rules and reports work on it once it is live. Nothing in Madgicx has to change for that.
If you are leaving Madgicx, turn off its automation rules before you cancel and write down what each did, so a budget change does not surprise you later. Your campaigns, ads and audiences live in Meta and stay there.
Run Tilly's free audit, confirm the personas, and ask for a first set of ads. Because they arrive paused, you can compare them with your best current ads before a cent of spend moves.
Measure with the same yardstick you use today. Run the new set against a proven ad at the same budget for a couple of weeks and compare cost per purchase, not likes.
