The short answer
Ryze AI and Tilly both describe themselves as AI that does the marketing rather than advising on it, and the difference is in how far each will go on its own. Ryze audits your ad accounts around the clock and makes bid and budget changes itself, with approval controls. Tilly writes the ads, emails, posts and page fixes and never spends money on your behalf: its ads go to Meta paused, and you turn them on.
Choose Ryze if paid ads are your main channel and you want an autopilot managing live spend across Google, Meta and more. Choose Tilly if you want one brand profile writing across email, SEO, ads and product pages, and you want a person to press go on anything that costs money.
Side by side
Ryze's column is taken from its pricing page. Ryze does not have a Shopify App Store listing we could read, so its rating rows are empty rather than filled from third-party sites. Usage claims and results quoted on Ryze's own site are not repeated here, because we cannot check them.

What each costs
Ryze charges a flat monthly fee that does not change with ad spend: Paid Ads Autopilot is $89 a month, SEO Autopilot $129, Traffic Printer, its full-service SEO, $599, and Ecom Autopilot, done for you, $1,499. Paying quarterly saves 5%, bi-annually 10% and annually 20%, and Paid Ads Autopilot has a 7-day free trial.
Tilly's price is also independent of ad spend. After 100 free credits it is $49 a month for 500 credits on the Store plan or $149 for 2,000 on Growth. A set of ads costs 25 credits, an email flow 30 and a blog post 15, and the audit, previews and reports are free.
The difference is what the fee buys. Ryze's covers continuous management of accounts that are already spending. Tilly's covers the making of new work across channels, which you then publish.

Where Ryze AI is better
Tilly wrote this, so first the things Ryze does that Tilly does not. source, checked 25 September 2026
- Ryze manages live ad accounts: it audits them around the clock and makes bid and budget changes itself instead of suggesting them. Tilly publishes ads paused and never changes spend.
- It rotates ad creative before it fatigues, an ongoing optimisation job Tilly leaves to you.
- It connects to more ad platforms, including Google Ads, TikTok and LinkedIn as well as Meta, Shopify, GA4 and Search Console.
- It offers done-for-you tiers, from full-service SEO to Ecom Autopilot, where its team runs the work; Tilly has no service tier.
Where Tilly is better
Tilly covers the channels Ryze does not write for. The email agent writes flows and campaigns into Klaviyo as drafts, the SEO agent publishes posts to your Shopify blog, the CRO agent writes product-page fixes onto a preview copy of your theme, and the ads agent makes Meta creative and copy. All of them read one brand profile.
It starts from who buys. The free audit reads your storefront, reviews and marketing and builds customer personas you confirm, and every ad angle and email is written for one persona and one pain point. That is useful long before an ad account has enough data for an optimiser to work with.
It never spends for you. Ads land in Meta paused, in a campaign you choose, and nothing goes live without approval. For a store that is nervous about handing an AI its ad budget, that is the point rather than a limit.
Learnings travel between channels. When one creative style wins in ads, the email agent reads it next time it picks images, and winning ad angles are handed to the email and CRO agents to use in flows and page tests.
Switching
You do not have to pick one for ads. A store can keep Ryze managing live spend and use Tilly to write new creative and copy, which lands in Meta paused for Ryze or a person to put into rotation.
If you are moving away from Ryze, check what it changed in your accounts, such as budgets, bids and paused ads, before cancelling, and note its current settings so nothing reverts unexpectedly. Its plans are month to month.
Then run Tilly's free audit, confirm the personas, and ask the ads agent for a first set of creative. It publishes paused, so you can compare it with your running ads before any money moves.
Judge the switch on your own numbers. Keep the same campaign structure for a few weeks and compare return on ad spend and cost per purchase before and after, so the decision rests on results rather than on either tool's pitch.
