The short answer
Yozo and Tilly are both AI agents for Shopify stores, aimed at different ends of the business. Yozo is a messaging and customer-conversation agent: you chat with it, and it builds campaigns and flows across email, SMS and WhatsApp, runs pop-ups and review collection, and answers customers through a support chat agent. Tilly is a marketing team across channels: it audits the store, builds personas, and writes emails into Klaviyo, blog posts to Shopify, ads to Meta and fixes for your product pages.
Pick Yozo if you want one app that sends messages on every channel and talks to your customers, with plans that include the sending. Pick Tilly if you already send through Klaviyo, or want to, and need the writing and planning done across email, search, ads and your store.
Side by side
Yozo's facts come from its Shopify App Store listing, because its own website renders in the browser and gave us nothing we could read and check. Each cell links to the listing and the date it was read.

What each costs
Yozo's Shopify listing shows a free plan with its AI campaign and flow builder, then Starter at $50 a month, which includes 10,000 emails and $10 of WhatsApp and SMS message credits, and Growth at $150 a month with 200,000 emails. Sending is part of the price.
Tilly does not send, so its price covers only what it makes. After 100 free credits the Store plan is $49 a month for 500 credits: 30 for an email flow, 10 for a campaign, 15 for a blog post, 25 for a set of ads. A store using Tilly also pays its sender, which today needs to be Klaviyo for Tilly to publish directly.
For a small store that only needs email and SMS handled, Yozo's plan covers more for the money. For a store that already pays for Klaviyo and needs more than messaging, the comparison is Tilly's plan against the writing time it replaces.

Where Yozo is better
This page is by Tilly, so Yozo's advantages come first. These are things it does that Tilly does not. source, checked 25 September 2026
- Yozo sends. Its plans include email volume and message credits for WhatsApp and SMS; Tilly sends nothing and needs Klaviyo behind it.
- WhatsApp and SMS campaigns and flows are built in; Tilly writes email only.
- It answers your customers: an AI chat agent on your site, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Tilly has no customer service side.
- It collects and embeds reviews itself, where Tilly reads the reviews you already have but does not gather them.
Where Tilly is better
Tilly works beyond messaging. The same brand profile writes blog posts that publish to your Shopify blog, Meta ads published paused, and product-page fixes on a preview copy of your theme, as well as email flows and campaigns. Yozo's listing is about messaging, pop-ups, reviews and support.
It decides what to write from who buys. The audit reads your storefront and reviews and builds personas with their pain points; each email is aimed at one persona and one worry, and the email calendar plans the next month around your markets' holidays and your own launches.
It keeps you in charge of every send. Tilly's flows land in Klaviyo as drafts and nothing goes out until you switch it on, which suits stores that want a person to read every email first.
It has a longer reach into results. Revenue from each flow and campaign is tied back to the persona and angle it was written for, and that feeds what Tilly suggests next.
Switching
Moving between the two depends on where you send. If Yozo is your sender and you move to Tilly, you would also move sending to Klaviyo: export contacts with their consent status for each channel, rebuild the flows, and warm up the new sender gradually.
WhatsApp and SMS subscribers need care. Consent for those channels is separate from email consent, so bring the records across exactly and do not message anyone on a channel they did not agree to.
If you keep Yozo for SMS, WhatsApp and support, and want Tilly for blog, ads and page work, the two do not overlap there. Only email would be written in two places, so decide which one owns it.
Either way, run Tilly's free audit first. It needs only your store address and shows the personas and a welcome flow, which is enough to judge the writing before changing anything.
Questions people ask
Does Tilly send WhatsApp or SMS messages?
No. Tilly writes email and publishes it into Klaviyo. Yozo builds and sends email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns and flows.
How much does Yozo cost?

Can I use Yozo and Tilly together?
Yes, if you divide the work. Yozo can keep SMS, WhatsApp, reviews and the support chat, while Tilly writes blog posts, Meta ads and page fixes. Email is the only overlap, and it should have one owner so customers do not get two welcome flows.
